- From the age of 5, seemingly endless hours were spent in the pool as I swam for New England Swimming/AAU. The smell of chlorine is nostalgic. During life's tough times, I draw on my swimming experiences of discipline, coupled with my faith in Jesus Christ. I spent many years out west for my schooling in speech-language pathology and special education, before returning to NE to teach. Although I have a passion for teaching young children with special needs, I currently am at home with my own 2 sweet girls, both of whom have sensorineural hearing loss and are the greatest gifts in my life.

Cipollini
This past weekend we headed to Sands Point, NY to visit my Uncle and his family. It was really great as we usually only see them at Christmastime, so it was nice to visit during the summer and enjoy their pool over a few relaxing days. On Saturday evening, we went to Cipollini at the Americana in Manhassett. The food was incredible! Highly recommend it if you ever out that way on Long Island. Not far from Port Washington. The shopping there on the other hand, is well, let's just say a little out of my league. We celebrated my mom's 69th birthday while there. Here she is with Little Miss Sunshine, the apple of each other's eye!

My mom once gave us (sisters and inlaws) a bit of money then took us to a shopping center to spend it on ourselves....it was a very upscale place like you were talking about..none of us could stand to spend a thing on the expensive clothing, so we went home, money still buring in our pockets, but still feeling happily frugal.
You sure can tell how much LMS loves her grandma! Glad that you had a great trip.
