I felt loved and appreciated by my husband and daughter on this Mother's day weekend. I feel love and inexpressible gratitude in my heart today for all that I have been blessed with. As I learn more about motherhood and appreciate the small simple twinkling moments with my daughter, I realize a little more clearly (not perfectly, but more awareness) of the love our Savior and Father in Heaven have for me, personally. I am deeply blessed, and my heart is full.
Prior to having a child, I never would have guessed how it felt to truly love a child. As a teacher of more than 10 years, I surely loved many of my students and cared deeply for them. Now as a mother of a beautiful, bright, beloved daughter I look back at my life before she came into mine and I never would have expected to have been able to love so fully. I didn't know that my heart would grow so much.
As I prepare for the birth of another daughter in a few weeks, I am having difficulty conceptualizing the ability to love another as deeply as I have loved my first. I have been told that it's not about making room in one's heart to love another, but that one's heart actually grows. Unfathomable.
Guitar Daddy and Little Miss Sunshine gave me a beautifully framed family photo with the following scripture written below to serve as a personal reminder when I sometimes forget who I am and what path I am blazing:
Proverbs 31:10-31
10 ¶ Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her aclothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Happy Mothers Day Donna.
Jane whispered to me today on the airplane, "i want to go home, I miss Annie from my nursery"
I thought it was so cute...
Glad you had a nice day~
I have always LOVED that scripture... you are a virtuous woman and a gracious, loving and humble mom. Happy Mother's Day!
XO
I remember feeling the same way before #2 came along. It's amazing the way it works though, your heart really does grow. And speaking of growing, you'll think that Little Miss Sunshine grew overnight when you first see her after the baby is born—at least I always felt like my kids did!
Thank you so much for sharing those wonderful thoughts...that is exactly what mother's day is all about and that scripture has always been one of my favorites!
I LOVE that scripture--what a wonderful gift. Happy Mother's Day!
I've always loved that scripture. It's a good reminder for me. And you will be shocked at how much you love your next child, and that your love for your first grows even more. Just wait until you see your older child loving your younger child. It's awesome. Of course, there are increased hard moments too, but that just comes with the territory, I guess!
Those are some great scriptures. You have a very thoughtful husband.
That is such a sweet gift, and she has such a sweet little face!
A while back you felt that you were ( I believe it was) tongue tied- well that is definitely not the case anymore. That was beautifully put!
